From the boardroom to the locker rooms, sport catches imagination like little else. In this podcast, we talk to the men and women, who make the big decisions and those who make the big plays to find where sport is; and, importantly, where it is going. We do so for the only eyes that matter: those of the fan!

Season 3, Episode 34: The lads welcome Sam Renouf, CEO at Professional Triathletes Organisation. PTO is challenging the current triathlon landscape. Sam, therefore, shares his views on what it takes to bring a sport out of the stale status quo. The sport needs to enter into a new era of athlete recognition, alternative funding strategies, narrative building, and data science.  All this, however, avoiding pitfalls like doping scandals, traditional media bias, and facing pressure from the “this isn’t how it’s done” crowd. Sam proves indeed a worthy commentator and avatar for someone taking the big risks to buck the trend and try something truly revolutionary in the world of Triathlon.
